Florianopolis Public Transport System
The Urban Plan for Mobility and Access to the Florianopolis Insular Region includes a group of solutions related to implement an urban mass transit system integrated, able to minimize the travel time within the island and between the Metropolitan areas. The proposal considered specific characteristics, as topographical constraints and environmental sensitivity (42% of the territory of the state capital is considered permanent preservation area), and then it was made the new Integrated Public Transport on the Florianopolis Metropolitan Area that articulates and plans the following means of transportation: Monorail, POD-SIT, boats, buses, taxis and bicycles.
